For this Assignment you will write a 2–3 page essay addressing thetopic of decision-making and the heuristics that can influencedecision-making. Your essay should be well organized, logical, andunified, as well as original and insightful. You should incorporateinformation from your course textbook and one other credible academicsource to support your essay.

In this unit you learned that decisions can be influenced byheuristics, in particular the representative heuristic, the availabilityheuristic and the anchoring and adjustment heuristic. In thisAssignment you are going to create three different case studiesillustrating situations where a client has used each of these heuristicsto make a decision. You will describe the clients’ thought processesinvolved in using each heuristic to make a decision. For each casestudy, you will discuss whether the heuristic led the client to a goodor bad decision. Finally, you should discuss how you would demonstrateprofessionalism as a psychologist working with a client who has made abad decision due to a decision-making heuristic. In particular, youshould explain how you would convey characteristics such as reliability,accountability and timeliness to your client.

Youmust demonstrate an accurate understanding of the anchoring andadjustment heuristic and clearly link the case study to thisdecision-making heuristic.   • Discuss how you would demonstrate professionalism as a psychologistworking with a client who has made a bad decision due to adecision-making heuristic, explaining how you would conveycharacteristics such as reliability, accountability and timeliness. Inparticular, you should discuss the following issues: (1) Reliability –How would you ensure you are up to date with information in your fieldso that you can provide clients with reliable information and answerquestions accurately?
